Why Not Me?!

Oh my gosh! Hello and welcome to my first ever blog post! I am so excited for this new adventure and to see where it takes me. I have wanted to start my own blog for a while now, about 4 years actually, and I am finally ready to throw caution to the wind and face my fears. I want to tell you a little story about what made me change my mind and  what finally gave me the push I needed to start this new journey!

A few years ago, my dad came up with an invention that could help him out at his job. He designed it, got a patent on it, and is now in the works of marketing it to a supplier. We got to talking about how this could change the course of his life and allow him and my mom to retire earlier than planned and at the end of our conversation my dad said…”Why not me?”. My dad has never been a dreamer so when I heard him talking like this I was surprised. But then it hit me! Yes, why not him?! He is just as smart and capable (if not more) than the next guy so what’s not to say that he will sell his invention for millions! There are so many opportunities that I dream about but don’t really believe in because of fear, rejection, and failure. We are all people in this world wishing, hoping, and working towards goals in our lives but I think one of the biggest things that stops us from reaching our full potential is not really believing that we can succeed. I remember when I was younger my parents told me I could be anything that I wanted to be when I grew up and I believed them. But as I got older, I stopped believing that. I think a lot of people stop believing that. It was after my dad and I’s conversation that a spark came back and made me realize I really can do anything I want. It might not be easy. It might not happen overnight. But I CAN do it:)

So long story short, why not me? I can start a blog! I can be successful! In my experience the things that you feel the most uncomfortable doing are the things that help you grow the most. I hope you all enjoy my blog and I am so excited to share more content!
